7 Seconds of Personality

Exhibition @ Slip Gallery | 2301 1st Ave, Seattle, WA

CONCEPT PROMPT

“That’s what accelerated culture does; it doesn’t speed things up as much as it jams everything into the same wall of sound.

- Chuck Klosterman, Sex Drugs & Cocoa Puffs

“7 Seconds of Personality” was a public, interactive art show on accelerated & urgency culture inviting public commentary on our modern world online.

All work was shown with defined areas for commentary as if they were posts on Instagram.

The crayon to paper comments resembled those on digital Instagram —

some constructive,
some pithy or mean,
random pop-culture references,
responses to others

"The sheer amount of myself I have to censor for Instagram is UNREAL"

"I escaped one cult, I don't need another"
